PHYSIOTHERAPY
Physiotherapy is a common form of rehabilitation medicine that corrects physical impairments or dysfunction and promotes optimal mobility and pain free function for individuals. Physiotherapists perform extensive and thorough examinations, developing unique treatment plans that are specific to that individual. Treatment will typically include hands on care, therapeutic exercise prescription as well as other modalities and techniques.
ABOUT US
Dr. Katie Goeckner received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Regis University Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professionals in Denver, Colorado, in 2011 and her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington in 2007. She has been involved in athletics from an early age and utilizes her extensive athletic experiences including 17 years of competitive dance, yoga expertise, and triathlons including 2x Ironman finisher events, to help clients successfully return to things they love in less time. Growing up in Spirit Lake, Idaho, Dr. Goeckner is proud to be serving her community in the greater Spokane and Coeur d’ Alene areas.
Dr. Goeckner utilizes a holistic approach taking lifestyle and diet into consideration as much as muskuloskeletal complaints. Her strong manual therapy, hands-on treatment emphasis enables clients to improve more quickly with lasting results. She has an intense passion for empowering patients to provide them with the tools they need to stay well on their own. Her professional interests include: spinal dysfunction, shoulder, knee and ankle complaints, hip and SI joint dysfunction, and pelvic floor conditions relating to urinary and fecal incontinence, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain, pregnancy and postpartum care. Dr. Goeckner has extensive training and 400+ hours of post-doctoral education in both manual therapy and pelvic floor conditions, providing care in these areas since 2011. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training through Harmony Yoga in June 2015 and subs to a lovely group of souls at the Valley Spokane Club when she is available.
Rise Women's Core Wellness was founded out of the frustration of growing demands placed on the profession as a whole, dictation from third party payors/medical insurance on visit approval, length, and duration of treatments, all of which compromised the care being provided to clients. She feels beyond blessed to work directly with patients one-on-one for 1-2 hours, enabling clients to access her directly without a referral, lowering their overall out of pocket cost and ultimately helping them heal faster.
Her personal interests are vast including: being Mama Bear to Baby S, swimming, yoga, running, stand up paddle-boarding, travel, alpine skiing, snowshoeing, baking and cooking with whole foods, and serving in children's ministry at her church. Above all, she loves Jesus and seeks to glorify Him in all that He does in and through her every day.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Amy
Katie helped me with sacroiliac joint pain during my pregnancy. I was having pain to the point of not being able to play on the floor with my kids and really feeling defeated that I would be unable to have a safe and natural delivery during my current pregnancy because of the pain. She diagnosed my problem and got me feeling better in short period of time. She continues to help me with building strength so that I can bring my newest bundle into the world!
I'd recommend her to anyone, especially pregnant or post-partum women who are having pain or other changes in their bodies. If something doesn't feel right to you, Katie is an excellent advocate and will work with you to help you find a solution!
Megan
Katie is seriously best in class. I have lived in huge cities and no one this specialized came close to the professionalism and knowledge that Katie has. Spokane is so incredibly lucky to have someone of her caliber! She will go above and beyond to figure out a plan for you and she will do the same to help you meet your goals. She is passionate, ridiculously smart, empathetic and so sincere. I feel like I hit the gold mine finding her!
Alysia
I am so thankful to have found Rise! Katie really listens to her patients and takes the time needed to not only pinpoint what their issue is but to make a plan to treat it. She is compassionate and kind, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. For me personally she has treated shoulder impingement and she is working with me to improve my shoulder mobility and while strengthening weaker supportive muscles so that I can avoid future issues. I have seen multiple other doctors and physical therapists for my shoulders and did not have nearly as good or timely results.
If you're wondering if you're a good candidate for pelvic floor physio, we developed a quick quiz to help you see if you are!
